Job summary

Burkett Restaurant Equipment & Supplies is seeking a General Service Technician to join the Service Team. This hands-on role will diagnose, repair, refurbish, and recondition used commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment in-house to support resale.

You will work with lead technicians, assist with cleaning, painting, and moving equipment as needed. The position offers 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with an hourly FLSA status.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's license required.
• 10-Hour OSHA Training and HAZCOM Training. Training provided if not already acquired.
• Excellent communication and professional demeanor.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Move equipment per department and technician needs using forklift and/or pallet jacks.
• Assist lead technicians in equipment troubleshooting and repair.
• Diagnose, repair, refurbish, and recondition used commercial kitchen/refrigeration equipment.
• Perform paint prep and reconditioning tasks as needed.
• Test equipment and ensure quality targets are met; report risks.
• Complete product diagnosis and disposition for damaged items for freight claims.
