Burkett Restaurant Equipment & Supplies is seeking a General Service Technician to join the Service Team. This hands-on role will diagnose, repair, refurbish, and recondition used commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment in-house to support resale.

You will work with lead technicians, assist with cleaning, painting, and moving equipment as needed. The position offers 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with an hourly FLSA status.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's license required.
• 10-Hour OSHA Training and HAZCOM Training. Training provided if not already acquired.
• Excellent communication and professional demeanor.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.

Responsabilités

Job Title:

General Service Technician

Primary Objective:

To assist a growing Service Department in the reconditioning of commercial kitchen equipment to achieve service targets including quality and productivity targets.

Primary Functions:

This position is responsible for producing high quality products for the Burkett Used / Reconditioned product line, assist our lead technicians in equipment repairs, to fill in for our equipment cleaner, to perform paint prep, and equipment/product movement on an as needed basis.

40 hours per week / Mon-Fri / 8:00am-4:30pm

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Movement of equipment per department and technician needs utilizing fork lift and/or pallet jacks
• Work alongside Lead technicians in the department to assist them in equipment troubleshooting and repair
• Electrically, mechanically, and cosmetically diagnose and repair all commercial stainless/cooking/mechanical/refrigeration equipment according to production targets
• Research and request necessary parts according to manufacturer specs or as required by basic mechanical guidelines
• Test all equipment in a timely, efficient manner and communicate any equipment that presents risk to internal or customer facing quality targets
• Complete product diagnosis and disposition for damaged items in support of freight claims
• Check operations and visually inspect all used items in our Quality Control area daily
• Work with and as a backup to our equipment cleaner on a as needed basis
  • Disassemble equipment to ensure thorough cleaning of all components
  • Reassemble equipment to be delivered into service, i.e. legs, casters, doors, etc
  • Power wash used equipment when needed during the reconditioning process
  • Clean and maintain the cleaning room at the end of each day
• Complete any ongoing training to maintain OSHA compliance
• Other duties as assigned related to continuous improvement of service department processes
• Field service will be required occasionally. A majority of the work will be in house but going out into the field will be required based on company needs

Requirements

• Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities

• Self-motivated with ability to work independently to achieve daily schedule

• Knowledge of basic material handling equipment and tools
• Ability to function as part of the team and assist other technicians when necessary
• Excellent computer experience working with Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally
