Job summary

Teledyne FLIR Imaging Systems is seeking an experienced technician to diagnose and troubleshoot complex infrared products, read wiring diagrams, and support customers via in-person, phone, and email to resolve service issues.

The role involves routine diagnosis, repair, and refurbishment, with opportunities to assist engineering on upgrades, ECOs, and new product implementations, while developing standard repair procedures compliant with ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years of prior work experience in a related field.
• 3–5 years of prior experience servicing thermal imaging equipment is a strong plus.
• AS degree in electronics or equivalent preferred.
• Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills with test equipment (oscilloscopes, voltmeters, etc.).
• Interpersonal and telephone communication skills required.
• Some technical training experience is a plus.
• Technical knowledge of computers, peripherals and software programs.
• Able and willing to lift a minimum of 45 pounds unassisted.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine diagnosis, repair, refurbishment, service and support for all Imaging Systems products.
• Assist Engineering in development and implementation of system upgrades and ECOs.
• Develop standard repair and maintenance procedures, documented to ISO standards.
• Provide technical support for spare parts inventory, including requirements for content and quantity.
• Provide customer support via telephone or email regarding technical issues.
• Provide accurate repair estimates including labor and material requirements.
• Assist in servicing Imaging Systems demonstration equipment.
• Provide technical leadership and training for lower level technicians.
