Job summary

Mira, a San Francisco-based hormonal health company, seeks an in-house General Counsel to lead the legal function as we scale our DTC health technology platform. You will guide privacy, data protection, and regulatory compliance across product, marketing, and partnerships.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in healthtech or DTC settings, with strong HIPAA/CCPA experience and proven contract negotiation capabilities. Remote, full-time role with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• JD and active license to practice law in good standing.
• 4+ years of legal experience, ideally in healthtech, digital health, or DTC companies.
• Experience with data privacy regulations (HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA).
• Strong contract negotiation and review experience.
• Experience advising on marketing claims and advertising compliance.
• Direct-to-consumer background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale the data privacy and protection program including HIPAA, FTC guidance, and state privacy laws.
• Review and negotiate commercial agreements: vendor contracts, partnerships, SaaS, and licensing.
• Provide guidance on marketing claims, advertising compliance, and consumer communications.
• Collaborate with product, marketing, and regulatory teams to ensure regulatory-aligned messaging.
• Develop privacy policies, terms of service, and customer-facing legal docs.
• Advise leadership on legal risks in DTC healthcare and AI-enabled features.
• Establish scalable legal review processes for marketing, product launches, and partnerships.
• Oversee regulatory strategy, risk management, and outside counsel when needed.
• Help build the legal infrastructure for a scaling startup.
