Job summary

Hyliion is seeking a Technical Recruiter to lead full-cycle recruitment across engineering, manufacturing and office roles supporting the KARNO technology. You will partner with HR leadership and hiring managers to understand technical needs, build targeted sourcing strategies, and ensure a positive candidate experience from contact to start date.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; degree in Human Resources, Business, or a technical field is a plus.
• Minimum of five (5) years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, preferably in an in-house corporate environment supporting engineering, manufacturing, or hardware technology organizations.
• Proven track record of filling engineering and technical roles, including senior-level and hard-to-fill positions.
• Working knowledge of engineering disciplines and technical terminology sufficient to screen candidates and partner credibly with hiring managers.
• Experience with AI-enabled recruiting tools to improve speed, quality, and consistency; ensure fair and compliant use.
• Advanced sourcing skills including LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean/X-ray search, and engagement of passive talent.
• Experience recruiting in startup, high-growth, energy, clean technology, automotive, or industrial manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with ATS (Greenhouse) and other recruitment software.
• Excellent interviewing and candidate assessment skills, with experience designing and running structured technical interview processes.
• Knowledge of HR practices and labor laws; export control considerations a plus.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication; able to engage candidates and stakeholders.
• Strong organization and prioritization; able to manage high-volume requisition load.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering, operations, and manufacturing hiring managers to understand technical requirements and translate them into hiring plans and job descriptions.
• Own full-cycle technical recruiting across disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, systems and controls, software/firmware, test, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain.
• Develop understanding of the company's technology to credibly engage technical candidates.
• Source passive and active candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter, Greenhouse, Boolean and X-ray search; engage technical communities and referrals.
• Build and maintain talent pipelines for critical and recurring technical and manufacturing roles.
• Conduct phone screens, video interviews, and in-person interviews to evaluate technical background, hands-on experience, culture add, and role fit.
• Design and coordinate structured interview processes with hiring teams, including technical interviews and skills assessments.
• Act as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment process.
• Collaborate with HR on offer development, compensation benchmarking, and hiring approvals; help close candidates.
• Maintain accurate and OFCCP compliant records within the applicant tracking system (ATS).
• Track, analyze, and report recruiting metrics; identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Ensure recruiting activities comply with employment laws, internal policies, OFCCP requirements, and export control screening where applicable.
• Protect and promote the organization's employer brand on external platforms.
• Build relationships with universities and partner with recruitment partners; participate in career fairs and intern programs.
• Adapt quickly to changing priorities and take on additional responsibilities.
