Job summary

Cosm in Los Angeles is seeking a litigator trained at a major law firm to own employment disputes end to end and advise on policies across jurisdictions. You will direct outside counsel when warranted and steer strategy, scope, budget, and quality.

The role requires self-management, strong knowledge of California wage-hour law, and comfort engaging with operations and hourly staff on the venue floor as Cosm expands. This position is office-based in LA.

Qualifications

• Four+ years of litigation experience at a major law firm.
• Demonstrated ability to manage matters end-to-end.
• Strong knowledge of California wage-hour laws (FEHA, PAGA) and Cal/OSHA.
• Comfortable communicating with general managers and hourly staff on the venue floor.
• In-house experience at a multi-site operating business is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own employment disputes, arbitration, and litigation end to end—direct outside counsel where warranted.
• Handle commercial, consumer, premises, and vendor disputes.
• Advise on wage and hour practices and worker classification.
• Maintain the employment document suite: offer letters, employment/separation agreements, contractor agreements.
• Develop policies, handbooks, and training across jurisdictions.
• Manage immigration and global mobility with specialist counsel.
