Job summary

Fort Worth ISD seeks an experienced Staff Attorney II to provide in-house legal counsel and representation for the district on a broad range of matters. You will advise on investigations, attend board meetings, draft and review legal documents, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies.

Reporting to the General Counsel, you will handle employment-law related advice, open records issues, and district elections, contributing to the district's mission through sound legal guidance.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from ABA-accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Texas, in good standing.
• 3 years of legal practice with emphasis on public school district issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel on investigations by federal and state agencies (DOE, OCR, TEA, SBEC, EEOC).
• Attend board and admin meetings to advise on legal compliance and Texas Public Information Act matters.
• Draft, review legal documents, resolutions, contracts, and other papers.
