Job summary

Dot Transportation, Inc. (DTI) is seeking an In-House Driver Trainer to develop and deliver driver training programs across locations.

You will prepare curriculum, conduct sessions, and support the Driver Training Program under the Director of Transportation. Responsibilities include assigning trainees, conducting recurrent and FHWA Hours of Service training, maintaining materials, coordinating road evaluations, safety and compliance training, and supporting recruiting and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Class A CDL with hazardous endorsement or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
• A safe driving record.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Professional training, teaching or instructing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assign new drivers to driver trainers and monitor the progress of new drivers in coordination with local Transportation management.
• Conduct recurrent accident training & FHWA Hours of Service training.
• Maintain driver training curriculum and develop course materials and evaluation testing.
• Assist with pre-hire road trip evaluations.
• Coordinate/conduct all OSHA required driver power equipment training and certifications for compliance.
• Assists with job fairs, recruiting programs, and safety awareness in the community.
• Apply lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position.

Department: Dot Transportation, Inc. (DTI)

Reports To: Director of Transportation

Salary Range: $64,479 to $96,718 annually, plus bonus opportunity

As an In-House Driver Trainer, you will prepare and conduct training programs for current Dot Transportation, Inc. drivers and newly hired drivers and assist with the Driver Training Program at all locations.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Assign new drivers to driver trainers and monitor the progress of new drivers in coordination with local Transportation management.

ROLE SPECIFICS

• Travel – Occasional overnight travel to internal events and trainings. Must have ability to travel independently as needed, without restriction by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train.
