ClarityPay, Inc. in Minneapolis seeks a Corporate Counsel to join the legal and compliance team.

This foundational role focuses on commercial contracting with merchants and vendors, with growth into product, compliance, and operational matters. You will serve as in-house SME on AI tool development for legal workflows and provide regulatory risk assessments for new financial products, partnering across functions.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school and bar admission in the primary state of residence.
• 3+ years total legal experience, including at least 2 years at a law firm.
• Significant contract drafting and negotiation experience.
• In-depth familiarity with consumer financial services matters generally.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and legal research abilities.
• Ability to learn and leverage new technology quickly and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts with merchants and vendors.
• Support business development, customer service, and internal stakeholders on legal/compliance matters.
• Serve as in-house SME on AI tools for legal workflows.
• Provide regulatory risk assessments for new financial products and compliance guidance.
• Develop legal/compliance resources for contracting and regulatory matters.
• Collaborate on responses to inquiries from customers and regulators.
