Job summary

Cherry Bekaert, a leading US accounting and advisory firm, seeks an Assistant General Counsel to join our Legal and Risk Management team. You will provide strategic legal counsel on contracts, subpoenas, employment law, and general litigation, partnering with the General Counsel and business leaders to mitigate risks and support compliance.

You will oversee litigation, draft and negotiate client and vendor agreements, manage outside counsel, and guide on employee relations, wage and hour issues,

Qualifications

• 5+ years managing litigation and dispute resolution.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the state of employment.
• In-house counsel experience and/or law firm practice required.

Responsibilities

• Handle all stages of subpoena responses and information requests.
• Manage litigation and administrative proceedings against the Firm.
• Draft and negotiate client and vendor agreements.
• Oversee outside counsel, including strategy and budgeting.
• Advise on employee relations, wage-hour issues, and compliance.
