Job summary

Millard Roofing in the Omaha area is seeking an experienced in-house Attorney to manage and litigate breach of contract claims against insurance carriers for unpaid property damage and restoration work. You will work closely with our legal team on all matters, with meaningful litigation impact on recoveries.

The role offers collaboration with an established in-house litigator, a stable growing company, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and Nebraska license.
• Minimum 3 years of experience.
• Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Litigate and manage breach of contract claims against insurance companies involving unpaid invoices for completed work.
• Assist with case evaluation, strategy, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
• Review and analyze insurance policies, adjuster reports, engineer reports, and claim files
• Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, briefs and settlement demands
• Help manage deadlines and workflow across all active matters

Millard Roofing is a well-established restoration and construction company based in the Omaha area. We are expanding our in-house legal department and seeking an experienced Attorney to help manage and litigate breach of contract claims against insurance carriers for unpaid property damage and restoration work.

This is a great opportunity for an attorney who wants to work in-house, on meaningful litigation with direct impact on the company’s recoveries. You will work closely with our legal team on all legal matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Litigate and manage breach of contract claims against insurance companies involving unpaid invoices for completed work.
• Assist with case evaluation, strategy, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
• Review and analyze insurance policies, adjuster reports, engineer reports, and claim files
• Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, briefs and settlement demands
• Help manage deadlines and workflow across all active matters

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active license to practice in Nebraska (or eligibility for admission)
• Minimum 3 years of experience
• Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills

Strongly Preferred

• Ideal candidates will have a track record of representing plaintiffs in civil litigation
• Experience working on the insurance industry side (insurance defense, coverage counsel, or claims litigation for carriers)

Compensation

Competitive base salary, depending on experience and qualifications, plus bonus potential.
