First American is seeking a Claims Counsel for a hybrid role in Washington (Seattle). You will investigate, evaluate, and resolve coverage claims, establish reserves, and determine when to retain outside counsel. The role requires admission to practice law in the US, strong negotiation and communication skills, and 2–4 years in title insurance/underwriting or claims.

• Law Degree required
• Admitted to practice law in US

Responsabilités

• Investigate, evaluate, determine loss and defense coverage liability and resolve claims.
• Establish settlement and expense reserves.
• Determine need to retain outside counsel and manage claims through final resolution.
• Negotiate with claimant/opposing counsel/third parties for resolution.
• Attend mediations and other court appearances; review invoices for costs and attorneys’ fees.
