Job summary

RHA Health Services is hiring a Therapeutic In-Home Coach for the START Program in Wilmington, NC and surrounding areas. The role focuses on delivering in‑home therapeutic coaching and community‑based interventions for individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health needs.

You will join a collaborative START team providing crisis prevention, education to families, and coordination with primary providers. A Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, Social Work or related Human Service field; 2 years’ experience preferred.
• Populations served include Intellectual Developmental Disability and Mental Health.

Responsibilities

• Coaches work in the home or community settings to implement person-specific and crisis therapeutic interventions and communicate these with primary caregivers.
• Provide hands-on education to families to stabilize crises and support daily activities and health and wellness.
• Participate as part of START services in collaboration with the primary provider, clinical home, and community crisis services.
• Offer consultation and hands-on education to the family and support system to ensure a safe, nurturing environment.
• Assist individuals with daily activities, behavioral health needs, and leisure activities; monitor for mental health or behavioral symptoms and provide de-escalation support.
• Maintain timely documentation of session and visits.

Education
