Job summary

Merrick, Inc. is seeking In-Home Supports (IHS) Caregivers to work individually with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and throughout the community.

This role focuses on helping clients build independence, work toward personal goals, develop life skills, and participate in meaningful activities. Ideal candidates enjoy building relationships, working independently, and creating experiences tailored to each person’s interests and needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required or equivalent.
• 6–12 months experience with individuals with IDD preferred.
• Ability to use electronic devices and internet-based applications.
• Commitment to safe, respectful, inclusive care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living tasks and life skills.
• Support clients toward personal goals and greater independence.
• Plan and participate in activities and community outings.
• Provide transportation to activities and community destinations.
• Assist with personal cares (toileting, bathing, meal prep).
• Support coping skills and positive interactions.
• Assist with medications as trained.
• Assist with mobility and transfers using adaptive equipment.
• Complete required documentation for services and goals.
• Follow individualized plans and safety procedures.
