Job summary

The Arc Erie County New York is seeking a Direct Support Professional I (DSP I) to provide person-centered assistance and training in daily living skills. This per diem role supports individuals with developmental disabilities in home or community settings, promoting safety and independence.

The DSP I collaborates with the program team, documents service provision, and participates in trainings. First Aid/CPR certification is required within 90 days of hire, and strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent diploma preferred.
• In Lieu of High School diploma or equivalent diploma, new hires will be required to complete all Arc Erie County New York’s training to include SCIP, First Aid, CPR and Medication Certification.
• Human Services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Providing person-centered assistance & training in activities of daily living.
• Assisting people with personal monies & shopping needs.
• Assisting people with community integration.
• Documents the provision of services, skill acquisitions and supports daily, contemporaneous and consistent with the Staff Action Plan.
