Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Patient Care division, part of LHC Group, is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and education under a supervising PT.

Primary responsibilities include following state PT laws, guiding patients in exercises, documenting responses, and coordinating with the care team. The role requires licensure, CPR, a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation, and weekend availability; benefits and competitive pay offered.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing physical therapy in home care and perform only procedures qualified and trained for.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, transfer, and prosthetic training.
• Observe and report patient responses to treatment and coordinate care with the health care team.
• Educate patient, family, caregiver, and others in therapy areas within the scope of PT Assistant.
