Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking veterinarians to provide in-home pet hospice, palliative care, and compassionate euthanasia across Germantown, Collierville, Cordova & Bartlett, TN. Work outside the traditional clinic with autonomy, meaningful family relationships, and schedule flexibility.

The role focuses on end-of-life care, quality-of-life support, and empathetic conversations, in a private home setting, away from corporate constraints.

Qualificações

• DVM/VMD/BVMS or equivalent veterinary degree from an accredited program.
• Hold, or be eligible to obtain, an active veterinary license in the state(s) where services will be provided.
• Possess a valid U.S. driver's license and be able to safely travel between scheduled in-home appointments.
• Comfortable working independently as a mobile veterinarian while remaining connected to Heartstrings teams.
• Demonstrated empathy and professionalism, particularly during sensitive hospice conversations.
• Availability to participate in rotational weekend scheduling as required by the position.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted and assist with weights up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to perform the physical and logistical requirements of providing veterinary care in various residential environments.
• Successful completion of applicable background and motor vehicle record checks.

Responsabilidades

• Provide in-home pet hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, and compassionate euthanasia within your service area.
• Independently travel to scheduled appointments in a mobile veterinary care environment.
• Perform physical exams, clinical assessments, medication administration, sedation, euthanasia, and other services.
• Educate families on quality-of-life decisions and end-of-life options with empathy.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient encounter.
• Communicate professionally with families, Heartstrings team, scheduling, and referring veterinarians.
• Safely handle and assist with movement of companion animals during visits.
• Maintain professionalism, clinical independence, and sound medical judgment in the field.
