Job summary

MaineTouch is seeking Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to provide in-home, non-medical support to adults and seniors in their homes or residential settings. You will help with daily living activities, safety, and independence while following each client's authorized plan of care.

No prior experience is required as MaineTouch provides training and ongoing supervision. We offer flexible scheduling (full-time and part-time), paid training, mileage reimbursement where applicable, and opportunities

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Active PSS certification in the State of Maine, or willingness to enroll within 60 days of hire.
• CNA (active or inactive) accepted.
• No experience required - training and support provided.
• Must not be listed on the Maine CNA/Direct Care Worker Registry with substantiated findings.
• Ability to work independently.
• Physical ability to assist with mobility and daily activities.
• Strong communication skills.
• Access to a working cell phone for scheduling and documentation.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred (assignment dependent).

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and basic hygiene.
• Support mobility and transfers.
• Help with light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and changing bed linens.
• Assist with meal preparation, serving, grocery shopping, and errands as per care plan.
• Provide companionship and assist with daily routines or hobbies.
• Observe and report changes in client condition to supervisor.
• Follow client service plan and complete required documentation.
• Maintain infection control and safety guidelines.
• Maintain client confidentiality per HIPAA and MaineTouch policies.
