Job summary

MaineTouch LLC is seeking a Personal Support Specialist (PSS) to provide in-home non-medical care to adults and seniors. You will assist with daily living activities in clients' homes according to each client's plan of care, while following MaineTouch guidelines.

No prior experience is required—training is provided. This role offers flexible full-time or part-time schedules, opportunities for growth (CRMA, CNA, DSP), and support from a dedicated office team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Active PSS certification in Maine or willingness to enroll within 60 days of hire.
• CNA accepted.
• No experience required—training provided.
• Must not be listed on the Maine CNA/Direct Care Worker Registry with substantiated findings.
• Ability to work independently.
• Physical ability to assist with mobility and daily activities.
• Strong communication skills.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home non-medical support to help clients live safely and comfortably.
• Assist with personal care tasks (bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene).
• Support mobility and transfers with safety in mind.
• Help with light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and changing linens as per care plan.
• Assist with meal preparation, meals, groceries, and errands per care plan.
• Provide companionship and help with daily routines or hobbies.
• Observe and report changes or safety concerns to supervisor.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines; maintain client confidentiality.
