Job summary

ProSource in Pasadena, TX is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team. You will work closely with OTs and other assistants to deliver therapy and support for our patients, following care plans and helping patients use adaptive devices.

The COTA will implement treatment programs to assist patients with physical, cognitive, sensory and social-emotional needs in home and community settings, coordinating with families and caregivers to carry over activities.

Qualifications

• Current state licensing for Occupational Therapist Assistant required.
• CPR certification is required.
• Experience in an occupational therapy setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements occupational therapy treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising OT.
• Supports pediatric and young adult patients in physical, neurological, cognitive, sensory, feeding, ADL and social-emotional development to maximize independence.
• Educates and empowers caregivers to carry over therapeutic activities at home.
• Ensures continuation of therapy plans after discharge by instructing patients and families in home exercise programs.
• Documents patient care in the electronic medical record and maintains patient confidentiality.
