Job summary

Visiting Angels of Bettendorf is hiring In Home Patient Care Assistants (PCA) to support clients across the Quad Cities area, including Eldridge and nearby towns. The role offers flexible schedules, competitive wages, and opportunities for growth.

As a PCA, you’ll assist with personal care, mobility, meals, light housekeeping, and monitoring health changes per care plans. A valid driver’s license is required for client transportation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License, Car Insurance, and a Reliable Personal Vehicle to transport clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• First Aid and emergency response training required (provided if needed).
• Excellent time-management skills; able to juggle multiple duties.
• Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled times.
• Physical endurance for carrying groceries and assisting clients.
• Willing to perform housekeeping and cooking tasks per dietary constraints.
• Willing to comply with health and safety standards.
• Bring compassion and a desire to brighten each client's day.

Responsibilities

• Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Assist with light physical activity and walks.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks.
• Report health changes or unusual incidents.
• Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
• Respond quickly in emergencies.
• Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
• Remind clients to take prescribed medications.
• Assist with mobility and transfers at home and during appointments.
