Job summary

Boost Home Healthcare-Fairfax West is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist to deliver intermittent in-home therapy under physician orders and an individualized plan of care. You’ll work with our Client Services Director for guidance and team support, helping patients regain independence safely in their own homes.

The ideal candidate is licensed in their state, has an OT degree, NBCOT certification, and at least one year in acute care; home health experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Occupational Therapy curriculum accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and/or certified by NBCOT.
• Eligible for the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• Currently licensed by the state Board of Occupational and Physical Therapy Examiners where practicing.
• Minimum of one year in an acute care setting.
• Two years of Home Health experience preferred.
• Access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Improve or minimize residual physical disabilities of the patient.
• Return the individual to optimum and productive living within the patient’s capability.
• Periodically participate with all other home care personnel in patient’s care planning.
• Provide prescribed occupational therapy and all skilled procedures.
• Responsible for initial assessment, plan of care maintenance program development and modifications and reassessments every 30 days.
• Consult with physicians regarding change in treatment.

Education

OT degree accredited by ACOTE/CAAHEA and NBCOT certification or equivalent

Eligible for NBCOT National Registration Examination

Licensed by state occupational therapy board

One year acute care experience

Two years home health experience preferred

Access to reliable transportation
