Job summary

Visiting Angels Springfield, IL is seeking caring individuals to join our in-home caregiver team. Responsibilities include assisting with medications, mobility, personal care, meal prep, light housekeeping, and providing companionship to seniors in central Illinois communities.

Qualifications

• In Home Housekeeper or Caregiver role requiring compassionate care and reliability.
• Mandatory passion to serve others and strong ethics.
• Ability to follow health and safety standards and care protocols.
• Reliable transportation and valid vehicle insurance are preferred.
• Must meet general eligibility and provide Social Security Card.

Responsibilities

• Help clients with prescribed medications as directed by care plan.
• Assist with ambulation, mobility, and doctor appointments.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene needs.
• Support routine exercises and mobility activities.
• Plan and prepare meals with client input and dietary needs.
• Shop for groceries or accompany client shopping.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks and tidying.
• Provide companionship and a positive attitude.
• Report unusual incidents promptly and responsibly.
• Act quickly in emergencies and follow safety procedures.

In Home Housekeeper or Caregiver Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

In Home Housekeeper or Caregiver Requirements
