Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is hiring In-Home Hospice and Euthanasia Veterinarians to support pet families across SeaTac and Washington. Enjoy professional autonomy, meaningful relationships, and the ability to practice end-of-life medicine in home settings.

This role emphasizes compassionate care, palliative services, and the opportunity to guide families through difficult decisions with empathy, all while working with a dedicated doctor-led team.

Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree.
  • Active or eligible veterinary license in Washington.
  • Ability to travel between scheduled in-home appointments.
  • Strong communication and empathy for end-of-life care.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-home hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, pain and symptom management, and compassionate euthanasia services within your assigned service area.
  • Independently travel to scheduled appointments in a mobile veterinary setting outside a traditional hospital.
  • Perform exams, clinical assessments, sedation, euthanasia, and other veterinary services in compliance with regulations.
  • Educate families on quality-of-life decisions and end-of-life options with empathy.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient encounter.
  • Collaborate professionally with pet families, the Heartstrings team, scheduling, and referring veterinarians.
  • Safely handle and assist with movement of companion animals during visits.
  • Maintain professionalism, clinical independence, and reliability while working in the field.
  • Demonstrate Heartstrings' Compassion. Dignity. Respect. in every interaction.
