Job summary

Anchor Health in California seeks a Music Therapist to assess patients and families, set therapeutic goals, and provide music therapy in patients' homes or community settings.

You will develop care plans, deliver interventions, document services, and support bereavement activities. The role includes staff education, IDG participation, and potential business development. A $500 hiring bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Music with concentration in Music Therapy and eligibility for certification.
• CBMT certification or eligibility required; Master’s preferred.
• Experience with terminally ill patients is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess and provide individualized music therapy services to the patient and/or family.
• Develop individualized music therapy plan of care.
• Use creative therapeutic activities to improve or maintain function and quality of life.
• Implement music therapy interventions per the interdisciplinary plan of care.
• Direct and implement legacy projects for patients/families as identified.
• Direct care team members in using music to achieve care goals.
• Document all services in the clinical record.
• Terminate therapy services when appropriate.
• Support business development activities of the organization.
• Provide in-services to hospitals, nursing homes and other facilities as requested.
• Support bereavement activities and counseling for family members.
• Participate in Hospice memorial services and grief support groups.
• Serve as counselor at IDG meetings and assist with on-call rotations and consents.
• Educate hospice staff about the role of music therapy with patients and staff.
