Job summary

WellLife Network in Elmont, NY is seeking a Residential Habilitation Specialist to implement in-home training programs for developmentally disabled individuals living at home or in other environments.

You will support activities of daily living, language and communication, community access, and social-emotional development, while documenting progress and applying approved behavioral strategies with confidentiality and care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; experience with developmentally disabled persons preferred.
• Ability to physically interact and intervene as needed.
• Commitment to confidentiality and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and developing goals and service plans with teaching strategies.
• Document progress in progress notes and monitor progress.
• Provide behavioral interventions using approved techniques and possible physical intervention.
• Participate in staff meetings and communicate with supervisors and staff.
• Maintain flexibility with caseloads and schedules.
