Job summary

Powerback Rehabilitation To You is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide outpatient in-home therapy for older adults across Worcester, Auburn and Westborough, MA. This part-time role offers a flexible schedule (20-28 hours per week) and mobility across patient residences.

You will implement OT programs under supervision, document care, and support independence and daily living activities, working within a supportive team that values mentorship and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license eligibility.
• Must have a valid driver's license or reliable, independent transportation to and from the patients' residence.

Responsibilities

• Attends and contributes to patient care, staffing conferences and other required meetings as a representative of occupational therapy, under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.
• Responsible for adherence to department and patient treatment schedule, timely clinical and billing documentation requirements as well as work related meetings.
• Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient.
• Instructs patients, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
• Maintains appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated.
• Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary.
• Puts Patient Service First: Ensures that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights.
• Implements a patient's individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Occupational Therapist.
• Provides individualized occupational therapy interventions including application of therapeutic techniques in such areas as, but not limited to:* cognitive skills* muscle strength* coordination* endurance* mobility* perceptual abilities* sensory awareness* sitting and standing tolerance* balance* activities of daily living* joint protection* work simplification* orientation* physical agent modalities* low vision* falls risk management* medication management* health and wellness* community integration and reintegration
• Performs other related duties as required.
