Job summary

Resource Innovations is seeking Residential Energy Auditors to support a large-scale residential energy efficiency program in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. This field-based role conducts comprehensive in-home energy assessments, identifies practical opportunities to reduce energy use, and explains available energy-saving improvements and program offerings to homeowners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of residential energy auditing or related field.
• Current BPI Building Analyst Technician or Building Analyst Professional certification; may obtain within intro period.
• Knowledge of building science, HVAC, and energy-efficiency measures.
• Ability to travel regularly and lift equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site residential energy audits per BPI standards and program protocols.
• Assess the home as a system including envelope, insulation, HVAC, water heating, lighting, and appliances.
• Use blower doors, combustion-safety testing, infrared cameras and other diagnostic tools.
• Document findings and provide cost-effective recommendations aligned with program requirements.
• Explain audit findings and incentives to homeowners clearly.
• Coordinate with staff and contractors for timely completion of measures.
• Perform post-installation inspections for quality assurance.
