Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking an In-Home Direct Support Professional to support individuals with disabilities in their homes or communities. You will help develop independent living skills while building meaningful relationships and ensuring safety and advocacy.

The role includes maintaining record-keeping, attending periodic trainings, and working toward enhanced quality of life for the people served.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license, driving record, and Motor Vehicle Check.
• Background check clearance required.
• Successful completion of medication administration training.
• Computer and math skills.
• Able to read, write, solve problems, and follow directions.
• Good decision-making skills and ability to respond to emergencies.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (may be obtained after hire).

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, encouragement, support, comfort, safety, and advocacy to individuals with disabilities in their homes or community.
• Assist in developing and monitoring individual plans and essential living skills to increase independence.
• Maintain documentation and participate in periodic meetings/trainings in accordance with regulations.
