Job summary

Adaptive SDP is seeking dependable Direct Support Professionals to provide person-centered in-home and community-based support for individuals with developmental and behavioral disabilities across Southern California, including Whittier. You will work 1:1 or in small groups, implementing individualized plans and applying ABA-based strategies when appropriate.

Documentation of progress is required along with regular communication with leadership.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience supporting individuals with developmental or behavioral disabilities.
• Willingness to transport participants; valid driver’s license may be required for some assignments.
• CPR & First Aid certification preferred; provided within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to pass a Live Scan background check.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized support and skill-building plans.
• Apply behaviorally informed (ABA-based) strategies when appropriate.
• Support development of communication, self-help, social, and adaptive skills.
• Reinforce positive coping strategies, routines, and structure.
• Assist with in-home and community-based skill-building activities.
• Facilitate structured, safe community outings.
• Follow safety, supervision, and de-escalation protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation and daily progress notes.
• Clock in/out accurately using EVV-compliant systems.
• Communicate regularly with the Program Director and support team.
