Job summary

Assisting Hands in Livingston, NJ is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide in-home support for an individual with developmental disabilities. You will assist with ADLs, ensure safety, and help progress toward goals outlined in the Plan of Care.

The role requires CPR/First Aid certification, reliability, and the ability to advocate for the client while maintaining dignity and privacy. Documentation and communication with family and supervisor are essential.

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid certification is required.
• Background check and drug screening required.
• Experience developing daily activity plans.
• Experience working with high-functioning, non-speaking individuals using electronic communication devices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home Direct Support Professional services to an individual.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and daily routines.
• Ensure client safety, dignity, privacy, and well-being at all times.
• Document services provided (CBS Log) and report changes to supervisor/family/guardian.
• Advocate for the client and protect their rights and privacy.
• Collaborate with client guardians or Support Coordinator as needed.
