Job summary

Palms Home Care in Florida seeks a reliable Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide in-home therapy under the supervision of a licensed OT. The COTA will help patients improve functional independence and home safety, contributing to compassionate in-home care.

The role requires an Associate degree in OTA, active Florida COTA license, and CPR certification. Home health experience is preferred, with knowledge of Medicare documentation and Kinnser EHR.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Active Florida COTA license.
• Home health experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare documentation requirements is a plus.
• Familiar with EHR such as Kinnser.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Possesses andmaintainscurrent CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy interventions as directed by the supervising OT.
• Assist patients with ADLs including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Implement therapeutic exercises and activities to improve strength, coordination, and mobility.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safety strategies.
• Accurately document patient visits in accordance with Medicare and home health guidelines.
• Communicate patient progress and concerns to supervising OT and interdisciplinary team.
