Job summary

Palmshomecare in Bradenton, Florida is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to assist patients with in-home therapy services. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, helping patients improve their functional independence within their home environment.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate degree in Occupational Therapy, an active Florida COTA license, and home health experience is preferred. This position offers flexible scheduling and mileage reimbursement.

Qualifications

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide in-home therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The COTA will assist patients in improving functional independence and safety within their home environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy interventions as directed by the supervising OT
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Implement therapeutic exercises and activities to improve strength, coordination, and mobility
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safety strategies
• Accurately document patient visits in accordance with Medicare and home health guidelines
• Communicate patient progress and concerns to supervising OT and interdisciplinary team

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Active Florida COTA license
• Home health experience preferred
• Knowledge of Medicare documentation requirements is a plus
• Familiar with EHR such as Kinnser
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Possesses andmaintainscurrent CPR certification
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
