Job summary

Visiting Angels Abilene is seeking an In Home Caregiver - Housekeeper to support seniors in the Big Country area. You will assist with light housekeeping, meal preparation, mobility and transportation, plus companionship and compassionate care.

We offer training in dementia care, flexible shifts (8, 10, 12 hours, PRN), and benefits including health, dental, vision, weekly pay, PPE, and continuing education.

Qualifications

• Passion to serve others and provide compassionate care.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Housekeeping and cooking with attention to dietary needs.
• Adherence to health and safety standards.
• Respectful, compassionate, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Good time management and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (appointments, walks).
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Help clients with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when able).
• Do the client's shopping or accompany them when they shop.
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can't complete.
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
• Report any unusual incidents.
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency.
