Job summary

Visiting Angels Abilene seeks caring individuals to join our in-home care team serving the Big Country area including Sagerton and surrounding towns. You will assist with personal care, meals, light housekeeping, and companionship to enrich clients' daily lives.

Ideal candidates have strong communication skills, reliable transportation, and a willingness to learn through advanced training in dementia or Alzheimer's care. Flexible schedules and competitive wages are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• First Aid and emergency response training provided if needed.
• Excellent time-management; able to juggle multiple duties.
• Reliable transportation to client homes as scheduled.
• Comfort with housekeeping and cooking within dietary constraints.
• Willing to comply with health and safety standards.
• Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients' days.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Support light exercise or walks with clients.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients.
• Perform light housekeeping duties.
• Report health changes or unusual incidents.
• Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
• Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
• Remind clients to take medications as directed.
• Assist with mobility at home and during appointments/errands.
