Job summary

Senior Helpers is seeking an in-home caregiver to support clients in their own homes, helping them maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life.

You will assist with daily living activities, provide companionship, and help with meals, medication reminders, and light housekeeping. A compassionate, patient approach and good communication are essential to ensure client safety and well-being.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with elderly clients in a caregiving role is preferred.
• Experience assisting seniors with bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting.
• Understanding of dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and other memory-related conditions is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and attentive to clients with physical or cognitive limitations.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Assist with meal preparation and medication reminders.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks, including laundry and linen changes.
• Accompany clients to appointments and outings.
• Monitor and report changes in clients’ health or behavior.
