Job summary

Journey Nursing Services in Carnation, WA is seeking CNAs and HCAs for in-home and facility care. Current openings include 12-hour Day shifts Wednesday-Sunday with competitive hourly pay and flexible part-time, full-time, or per-diem positions.

Provide hands-on patient care, promote patient rights and dignity, and follow individualized care plans. WA CNA/HCA license and good standing with DSHS required. Transportation to work is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• CNA or HCA license to provide home care in Washington State.
• Experience as a Home Care Aide preferred.
• Be listed in good standing with the Washington DSHS Background Check System.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job.
• Have transportation to and from job.
• If providing transportation clients, you must have a valid drivers license and insurance.
• Population-specific experience a plus (training may be provided).
• RN delegation certificate a plus may complete training through Journey Nursing Services.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on patient care at the place of assignment: In-home, Facility, or Adult Family Home.
• Provide quality care to patients/clients in an environment which promotes patient/client rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and individuality.
• Provide individualized attention and encourage residents to maintain or attain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
• Understand and ensure that individualized care plans are followed; report any change of condition or observation of patient need to nurse supervisor.
• Assist with ADLs including grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, ROM, communication, or other needs.
• Promote skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers by turning and repositioning immobile residents and applying moisturizers.
• Treat patient clients' personal property with respect.
• Perform delegated tasks by the nurse including vital signs, weights, and applying creams/ointments.
• Maintain safety and infection control procedures, including hand washing and gloves as indicated.
