Benevolent Hearts Home Care is seeking compassionate caregivers to support seniors with dementia in Keller, TX. Join a team focused on respectful, person-centered care and dementia training to improve interactions and outcomes.

We value caregivers who understand Alzheimer's, memory loss, wandering, sundowning, and resistance to care, and who can provide meaningful engagement, safety, and reliable transportation as part of a dedicated home care service.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of verifiable professional caregiving experience.
• Experience supporting clients with Alzheimer's or other dementias.
• Comfortable with memory loss, wandering, sundowning, and resistant care.
• Valid driver's license and current auto insurance.
• Ability to pass a background screening.
• Weekend availability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one care for seniors with Alzheimer's and other dementias
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and personal care
• Use dementia-friendly communication approaches and redirection
• Support clients experiencing cognitive and behavioral changes
• Provide meaningful engagement, companionship, and cognitive stimulation
• Assist with mobility and transfers
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding when needed
• Provide transportation to appointments and community activities
• Monitor condition changes and relay concerns to the care team
• Follow individualized care plans and safety protocols

Dementia Caregiver - Home Care

Client located in Keller with advanced dementia. Seeking Caregivers for 24/7 care.

At Benevolent Hearts Home Care, we are building a specialized team of caregivers who understand that behaviors are communication.

We provide specialized dementia training focused on creating more positive interactions between clients and caregivers in the home care setting. Our goal is to help caregivers develop the skills and confidence needed to create calmer, more successful interactions with seniors living with dementia.

We're looking for caregivers who are comfortable supporting seniors living with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, memory loss, sundowning, wandering, repetition, resistance to care, and other dementia-related behaviors.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one care for seniors living with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal care
• Use redirection, validation, and other dementia-friendly communication approaches
• Support clients experiencing cognitive and behavioral changes
• Provide meaningful engagement, companionship, and cognitive stimulation
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding when needed
• Provide transportation and accompany clients to appointments and community activities as needed
• Monitor changes in condition and communicate concerns to the care team
• Follow individualized care plans and safety protocols

Requirements

• Minimum one year of verifiable professional caregiving experience with a home care agency, assisted living community, memory care community, rehabilitation center, skilled nursing facility, or similar healthcare setting
• Experience supporting clients living with Alzheimer's disease or other dementias
• Comfortable supporting clients with memory loss, dementia-related behaviors, wandering, sundowning, and resistance to care
• Valid driver's license and current auto insurance
• Ability to pass a background screening
• Weekend availability preferred
• Comfortable working in homes with pets
