Job summary

MaineTouch LLC is hiring Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to provide in‑home, non‑medical support to adults and seniors. You will help with daily living tasks, mobility, and companionship in clients’ homes or residential settings, following each plan of care.

No prior experience is required as we provide comprehensive training and ongoing supervision. Flexible full‑time or part‑time schedules are available to fit your life.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Active PSS certification in the State of Maine, OR willingness to enroll in a PSS training program within 60 days of hire.
• CNA (active or inactive) accepted.
• No experience required – training and support provided.
• Must not be listed on the Maine CNA/Direct Care Worker Registry with substantiated findings.
• Ability to work independently.
• Physical ability to assist with mobility and daily activities.
• Strong communication skills.
• Access to a working cell phone for scheduling and documentation.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred (assignment dependent)

Responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on, non‑medical support to older adults and individuals with disabilities in their homes or residential settings.
• Assist clients with personal care tasks (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting) and basic hygiene.
• Support mobility and transfers with or without aids.
• Help with light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and changing bed linens.
• Assist with meal preparation, grocery shopping, and errands as outlined in the care plan.
• Provide companionship and support daily routines or hobbies.
• Observe and report changes in a client’s condition to your supervisor.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines and protect client confidentiality.
