Job summary

MaineTouch is seeking Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to provide in-home non-medical support to adults and seniors, promoting safety, independence, and comfort in their homes.

No experience required—we train and support you, with opportunities for career growth through certifications like CRMA, CNA, DSP, and nursing pathways. Flexible full-time and part-time schedules are available, with mileage reimbursement where applicable.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years old.
• Active PSS certification in Maine or willingness to enroll in a PSS training program within 60 days of hire.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• No experience required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
• Support mobility and transfers with and without aids.
• Help with light housekeeping and laundry related to care.
• Assist with meal preparation, serving, groceries, and errands.
• Provide companionship and support daily routines.
• Observe changes and report safety concerns to supervisor.
• Follow client care plan and complete required documentation.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines.
• Maintain client confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Respond to emergencies and report incidents.

Skills

Must be at least 17 years of age

Ability to work independently

Strong communication skills

Access to a working cell phone for S&S

Reliable transportation

Education

High School Diploma or GED preferred

Active PSS certification in Maine

CNA (active or inactive) accepted
