Job summary

Nurse Next Door San Mateo is seeking compassionate Home Care Aides to help seniors stay at home. Flexible schedules from 10 to 40 hours per week, with morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight shifts available.

This role involves following care plans, assisting with ADLs, transportation, light housekeeping, meal preparation, and documenting care. Training is provided to meet California Home Care Aide requirements.

Qualifications

• Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and the impaired.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
• Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance and/or reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Execute the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer.
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and personal hygiene.
• Aid with transfers, positioning, and ambulation.
• Provide meal planning and preparation, including therapeutic diets.
• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, shopping for personal items, and companionship.
• Record and report changes in client condition to supervisor.
