Job summary

Nurse Next Door San Mateo is hiring compassionate Home Care Aides to help seniors safely stay at home with dignity. Roles offer flexible hours from 10 to 40 hours weekly and can include mornings, afternoons, evenings, or overnights.

No prior experience required and paid training is provided to meet California requirements. Candidates must be at least 18, complete state registration, pass a background check, and communicate well with clients and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Current registration with the California Home Care Aide Registry or plan to complete required registration.
• Criminal background check completed or in process.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care.
• Effective communication with clients and staff.
• Reliable transportation to client homes.

Responsibilities

• Follow the care plan as outlined by the Care Designer.
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) within scope.
• Assist with personal hygiene and grooming.
• Assist with transfers, mobility, and safe ambulation.
• Support prescribed exercises and activities.
• Plan and prepare meals including special diets.
• Assist with bathroom needs and incontinence care.
• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, shopping, and errands.
• Provide medication reminders and monitor client conditions.
• Report changes to the administrator or care designer.
• Document all services performed and hours worked.
