Job summary

FIVE ACRES in California seeks staff to provide therapeutic and behavioral skill-building services to children, young adults, and families. Under supervision, you’ll respond to crises, conduct intakes, and coordinate with DCFS.

You will also plan activities, maintain documentation, and participate in supervision to improve care. Qualifications include a high school diploma with mental health experience; a CA driver license and a personal vehicle; Pro-Act and First Aid/CPR.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma plus two years of mental health experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a mental health field preferred.
• Valid California driver's license and automobile insurance.
• Personal car available for agency business if needed.
• Pro-Act certification training at minimum.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours incl. evenings and weekends.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and WELLIGENT for notes.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic, behavioral skill-building services to clients.
• Respond to urgent and crisis situations under supervision.
• Conduct intakes and orientations for newly admitted children, 24/7.
• Plan and facilitate leisure-time activities with families.
• Maintain weekly communication with DCFS staff and client teams.
• Prepare and submit documentation; maintain confidentiality.
• Participate in case supervision and apply feedback to practice.
• Establish rapport with clients, families, and the community.
• Attend team meetings and client appointments with the TSH team.
• Complete client risk assessments and communicate risks promptly.
• Stay updated on program standards; pursue ongoing learning.
• Maintain confidentiality of all client and agency information.
