Job summary

DOROT is seeking an Assessment Social Worker to conduct comprehensive in-home assessments for older adults, determine community resources, and guide participants to DOROT programs. The role combines field work with office collaboration in a hybrid schedule.

The position requires LMSW or LMHC, strong communication, and experience with volunteers; salary is $52k–$55k with full benefits, vacation and retirement plan.

Qualifications

• Must hold LMSW or licensed mental health counselor credential.
• Affinity for working with older adults and sensitivity to community needs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to document clearly.
• Experience with volunteers and ability to work independently and with teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-home assessments independently in the community.
• Provide short-term case assistance, information, referral, and advocacy.
• Collaborate with the social work team to initiate program participation.
• Maintain accurate case assessments and client interactions in Salesforce.
• Lead or co-lead one or more psychoeducational groups each year.
• Manage a caseload of up to 20 Friendly Visiting matches with quarterly check-ins.
• Deliver case assistance and advocacy for older adults and caregivers.
• Provide information and referrals beyond our scope when needed.
• Stay informed on aging-related issues and resources.
• Supervise interns and office volunteers as needed.
• Represent DOROT at community events and conferences.
