Job summary

Coastline Academy is looking for dedicated driving instructors in Virginia to teach teens and adults in Coastline vehicles. You will be trained, certified, and supported by a team as you guide students from learner to road-ready drivers.

Most lessons occur in the afternoons and weekends, with company-provided cars and a focus on safety, confidence, and clear communication. Training totals include virtual learning and hands-on mentorship.

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for helping people learn.
• Patience and the ability to stay calm while someone learns a new skill.
• A strong safety mindset and sound judgment under pressure.
• Clear, direct communication and real coaching instinct.
• A valid driver’s license in the state you want to work in.
• At least 10 years of licensed driving experience.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Teach the practical skills of driving, from parking lots to freeway merges.
• Coach students on the rules of the road and safe driving habits.
• Build confidence, not just competence, in new drivers.
• Take control of the vehicle when a situation calls for it.
• Document and report on each student’s progress.
• Stay in close, timely communication with your supervisor and support team.
• Bring professionalism to every interaction with students and teammates.
