AmeriCorps is seeking participants for the Improve Your Tomorrow College Access Mentor program. This full-time role is designed for individuals passionate about guiding students from diverse backgrounds as they navigate their educational journeys. Participants will mentor and provide academic support to youth in various locations across California, Maryland, and beyond.

Overview

IYT's Mentor Fellowship Program is an opportunity for diverse college or recent high school and college graduates and emerging leaders to develop strong, innovative, and empathetic leadership skills while supporting young scholars of color on their journey to and through college. Mentor Fellows serve at middle school, high school, or local college campuses providing valuable mentorship and academic support to IYT participants in one of our signature programs: College Academy, IYT Community College, or IYT University. We have programs in Sacramento, Central Valley, Bay Area, Maryland, and Minnesota. Candidates of all gender are encouraged to apply.

Member Duties

• Join a nation-wide movement to help increase the college going rates among middle school and high school students enrolled in Improve Your Tomorrow’s College Academy program.
• Empower students through mentorship, academic support, college advising, parent engagement, college tours, weekend and evening events, and engaging after school programs.
