You aren’t just looking for a job, you’re looking to make an impact. At IYT, we’re dismantling the school‑to‑prison pipeline and replacing it with a college‑to‑community pipeline. We’re looking for leaders, big brothers and sisters, and change‑makers to join our Mentor Fellowship Program.

How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Guide 25‑50 boys and young men of color as they navigate middle and high school.
  • Help students crush their college applications and secure financial aid.
  • Run workshops on civic engagement, life skills, and “Brotherhood” activities.
  • Keep parents in the loop and bridge the gap between home and school.
Qualifications
  • Pass a National Service Criminal History Check, FBI fingerprinting, National Sex Offender Registry check, and a State background check.
  • Must attend Pre‑Service Orientation and Mentor Fellowship Training.
  • Can pass reasonable accommodation arrangements for applicants with disabilities.
  • Pass a National Service background check and associated security measures.
  • Commit to Monday‑Friday plus 1‑2 Saturdays a month (40 hours per week).
  • Be organized enough to handle data (Salesforce is used and training is provided).
  • Be passionate about social justice and equity in education.
  • Can connect with teenagers and command a room.
Perks and Benefits
  • Bi‑weekly stipend of $1,275.00 (40 hours per week).
  • Medical benefits (if eligible) and mental health workshops.
  • Student loan deferment and potential loan forgiveness (eligible loans).
  • Segal Education Award (up to $10,000) upon successful completion of service term.
  • Professional development opportunities, career advising, and access to the IYT Alumni Network.
  • Near‑peer mentorship and wellness workshops.
Terms of Service

Service terms are 40 hours per week, starting August 2026 through January 2027.
