Job summary

Guardian Fleet Services Pro Tow division in Columbus, OH is seeking a reliable Impound Driver to tow, transport, and secure vehicles on private properties using an auto loader, complying with laws and company policies.

The role requires strong driving skills, customer service, and the ability to stay calm under pressure, with daytime and possibly on-call shifts. Compensation is $20.00 per hour plus commission.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid drivers license in the state of employment.
• Clean driving record and ability to meet company standards.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Experience in towing or related fields preferred.
• Ability to safely operate towing equipment (auto loader, wheel lift). Training provided for qualified candidates.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Must understand written and oral instructions and speak English clearly.

Responsibilities

• Operate a tow truck with an auto loader according to policies and local/state regulations.
• Respond to dispatch calls and follow routes and instructions.
• Safely load, secure, transport, and unload vehicles using proper towing procedures.
• Complete required paperwork, including impound and custody reports.
• Communicate professionally with property owners, law enforcement, and co-workers.
• Follow procedures and legal requirements for private property impounds.
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of equipment and vehicle.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance concerns.
• Utilize GPS, dispatch systems, tablets, and onboard tech accurately.
• Assist with organizing, parking, and securing vehicles in the impound lot.
• Follow safety policies to prevent damage to vehicles, property, or equipment.
• Report incidents, accidents, damage, and equipment issues promptly.
• Provide courteous and professional customer service and maintain a professional appearance.
• Shifts may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
