Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking an Import Trade Operations Lead in the Chicagoland area to oversee U.S. and Canadian import compliance, HTS classification, and broker coordination. The hybrid role requires in-office presence 3 days per week and a strong background in cross-border trade controls.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in trade compliance, a valid U.S. Customs Broker License, and deep knowledge of CBP/CBSA requirements.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong understanding of U.S. and Canadian import regulations and valuation rules.

Responsibilities

• Oversee compliance with CBP, CBSA and OGAs across borders.
• Audit HTS classifications and coordinate with Trade Service on tariff data.
• Manage external U.S. and Canadian customs brokers and import declarations.
• Prepare financial documentation for duty payments and audits.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of import regulations and tariff rules.
• Collaborate with purchasing, logistics, engineering, and finance to resolve delays.
• Prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
