Job summary

CEVA Logistics in Portland, OR seeks an Entry Writer Import Specialist to manage import operations, ensure compliance, and prepare essential documents. You will work with brokers, forwarders, and government agencies to ensure timely clearance and accurate tariff handling.

The role requires strong knowledge of U.S. customs regulations, HTS codes, and data analysis, with experience in CargoWise One being highly preferred. This is a full-time, on-site position offering growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with related field experience.
• 5-7+ years in import/export operations focusing on customs compliance.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. customs regulations and HTS codes.
• Experience with CargoWise One is highly preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, able to handle deadlines.
• Familiarity with IEEPA, FTAS, Sec 301 and related tariff programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of import operations and compliance.
• Prepare and submit Bills of Lading, Invoices, Certificates of Origin, ISF filings.
• Coordinate with brokers, forwarders, carriers, and agencies.
• Monitor tariff classifications and duty rates; apply free trade agreements.
• Maintain audit-ready records and compliance programs (CTPAT).
• Analyze customs data for audits and regulatory reviews.
• Train junior staff on customs procedures and compliance.
